Etsy Kids Team Review - Sweet Seraphina

"Always strive to be better than the day before"

 -Lindsay Thompson, Owner, Sweet Seraphina

This quarter I am featuring a fabulous shop- Sweet Seraphina. Owner, Lindsay Thompson, was kind enough to send me some products so I that I could check out her "sweet" items first hand.

Sweet Seraphina specializes in Handmade baby bibs, burp cloths, blankets, pacifier clips, feather headbands, onesie stickers, tie onesies, hair bows, hair clips, rosette headbands for older girls and dog bandannas. With an affection to the bandanna's "since those are my only real “babies” in my life right now =)."

I was sent a monogrammed bib & burp cloth, along with a tie onesie in a beautiful chevron pattern for my little guy to model. When the package was opened it was a real treat! Lindsay took care to wrap the items so beautifully. The set was tied with a beautiful satin ribbon accompanied by a thank you note, branding tags and a business card. Then it was wrapped in matching tissue and mailed in a brand new box. From the first moment I opened it I loved it!

When I finally opened up the packaging (after much admiring!) I was able to see how much love truly goes into these items. I have to say, you can really tell that Lindsay loves what she does. There was so many instances of attention to detail. The stitching is flawless including the embroidered pieces. I couldn't even tell where the stitching started and finished (I sew also and just tend to notice those things).

I love the color combo she picked for Sebastian and love even more that he bib is created with a snap closure over velcro (which many bibs are made with on Etsy). Even the button snap was beautiful! It is the same turquoise as the stitching in his name. The items were finished off with a little branding, a "Sweet Seraphina" clothing label.

We absolutely love Sweet Seraphina and Sebastian has worn the shirt 3 times already since photographing. In my opinion this is one of the best shops I've come across in my 2 years of Etsy shopping.

I asked owner, Linday Thompson to give a brief bio so we can know where all that creative goodness comes from :

"As a kid, my little hands and mind were always busy. You could often find me in my room cutting butterflies and ladybugs out of cardboard and painting them, or creating collages and gluing them to walls, tables, doors, or anything else that stood still. I think being a “crafter” is just ingrained into who you are from the get-go.
Sweet Seraphina was created in the beginning of 2010 when I was working full time at an office job and had just finished my MBA. After grad school finished, I wanted something to fill my free time and got the idea to teach myself to sew after going to a craft show and thus Sweet Seraphina was born. I actually just quit my job as an auditor last year to focus on Sweet Seraphina and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
I originally hail from Jacksonville, Florida, went to school in Tallahassee and lived in NYC for a few years after scoring an internship with Cosmogirl magazine in my last semester of college. I am now in Orlando, FL and loving not having to see snow for months at a time!"

What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep yourself motivated?

"There’s just a natural drive in me that’s always been there to be the best at what I am striving to do. You just have to kindof look at it as your empire that you’re building. It’s your baby and if you’re not motivated, it’s never going to go anywhere."

At the request of a photographer friend of mine, the ever fabulous Heather Blair Photography, I added these beauties to the shop. The camera strap cover slides over your existing DSLR strap and are padded for extra comfort. You may choose from a variety of designer fabrics for your strap.

Choose one or two colors/patterns for a stylish and unique strap. BONUS- No more annoying logo advertising your brand camera =)

For fun, I can add a floral embellishment, a ruffle or two, some bows, maybe even some bling! Lets get crazy and design it together!! Also, if you are the type to lose that lens cap cover, we can add a pocket to hold onto the cap while you shoot!!

The DSLR camera strap cover will be made to order based on your preferences. Prices start at $15 for basic 1 or two prints and go up depending on embellishments wanted.
