Boys Bow Ties - Velcro, Clip On, & Adjustable

We are always improving & expanding our selection at Pretty Baby Accessories. Along with the recent revamp of our branding & our popular newborn lace pants, we have decided to update our bow tie style & closure options.

Our new style bow tie is made more durable with a double layer of fabric and stabilizer. This will help keep the bow shape over time & keep it more sturdy for the rough n tough tykes in the crowd. As with all handmade items, it is still best to spot treat or wash by hand. You may also toss in a lingerie bag on delicate if you wish. Lie flat to dry and press as needed on medium heat.

The new boys bow ties will also come with three options for closure. We only use professional quality & REAL bow tie hardware!!! No make shift clips here.

  •  Standard neck strap with Velcro closure - This is the optimal choice for babies and smaller, wiggly children. It is a no fuss, pre-adjusted size that is quick to get on and off.

Velcro Closure

  • Neck Strap with adjustable slide & hook closure - This choice is great if you are looking to get use of the tie for years. It has an adjustable slide and can be a small as 9-10" and as large as 15-16". The closure is a simple hook & eye. Not the best option for wiggly kiddos who may not sit still for adjustments.

Adjustable Hook Closure

  • Clip on If your boy doesn't like the extra bulk around the neck, the clip on is for him. These clip onto any collar from toddler sized to children sized.

  • Clip On

We are so happy to be making all of these improvements this year! Be sure to subscribe to this blog to be up to date with the latest changes. We have some great things in the pipeline.

Pretty Baby Birthday Sets- Boys Cake Smash Outfits

When my Son turned One last year, I knew I wanted to do a cake smash session. You know, those photo sessions where baby gives a beating to a birthday cake! So I booked my session with Rhea Ashlynn Photography and began planning his special birthday outfit.

We had chosen a super hero birthday, so his cake smash would surely need to match the theme. I found a super cute comic book fabric and made a tie, diaper cover, fabric birthday hat, and decorative flag banner.

My super hero's comic book birthday outfit was such a hit! I have had quite a few requests for custom first birthday sets since then. Here are a few:

Which set is your favorite? What theme was your Pretty Baby's last birthday?

Newborn Lace Pants Prop - Baby Girl Lace Leggings

I debuted these lovely lace baby leggings sets nearly a year ago. They have continued to be one of our top sellers (especially aqua!). The lace newborn pants come in a variety of colors and add a delicate touch to your session.

I've decided to revamp the headband this year. I'm going with something simple, yet elegant. A small (1.5") handmade lace flower headband. I will still offer the original bow headband by request.

I am also releasing 3 new colors! Charcoal gray, peacock teal, and golden yellow.

I hope to continue to expand the line with even more new colors in the coming months. What colors would you like to see?

    Socialize with Pretty Baby Accessories

Pretty Baby Accessories wants to connect with our community on all platforms! I use different media outlets for different things.

For instance, Facebook is where I promote Pretty Baby Accessories Coupons & Sales. Pinterest for sharing other projects I may be working on and my favorite recipes, home decor, and more. Twitter is a lost cause to me haha. I just don't get it! Maybe one of these days.

I am just starting to dabble in Instagram and google plus, so not sure what to do there just yet. Maybe Giveaways? What do you use them for?

Pretty Baby Accessories gets a makeover- New Branding

After having Sebastian my life changed more than I could have ever anticipated. Being mommy is now my number one priority and that means a lot of my projects have taken the back seat. This blog was the first project I put on the back burner, along with the dishes! Pretty Baby Accessories was not going anywhere though. That is my other baby and I will continue to use my creative hands to accessorize the Pretty Babies (and mommies!) of the world.

    Suspenders by mommy =)

Now that Sebastian is nearing two, I have a bit more time to work on blogging. I hope to use this platform to bring my readers the first official sneak peeks of my projects. I will also continue to share my favorite online shops and the work of fellow crafters.

The first order of business is already complete! Notice anything different here? I update the blog with my new branding. I decided to go with more gender neutral colors and fun modern patterns. My logo is simplified as I grew tired of the elaborate framing and glittery backgrounds used with my old branding.

My next project will be to post about some of the newer items released during my blogging hiatus. Be sure to subscribe to read more about my new baby accessories, photo props, and various other projects.

What do you think about my new branding?

Etsy Kids Team Review - Sweet Seraphina

"Always strive to be better than the day before"

     -Lindsay Thompson, Owner, Sweet Seraphina

This quarter I am featuring a fabulous shop- Sweet Seraphina. Owner, Lindsay Thompson, was kind enough to send me some products so I that I could check out her "sweet" items first hand.

Sweet Seraphina specializes in Handmade baby bibs, burp cloths, blankets, pacifier clips, feather headbands, onesie stickers, tie onesies, hair bows, hair clips, rosette headbands for older girls and dog bandannas. With an affection to the bandanna's "since those are my only real “babies” in my life right now =)."

I was sent a monogrammed bib & burp cloth, along with a tie onesie in a beautiful chevron pattern for my little guy to model. When the package was opened it was a real treat! Lindsay took care to wrap the items so beautifully. The set was tied with a beautiful satin ribbon accompanied by a thank you note, branding tags and a business card. Then it was wrapped in matching tissue and mailed in a brand new box. From the first moment I opened it I loved it!

When I finally opened up the packaging (after much admiring!) I was able to see how much love truly goes into these items. I have to say, you can really tell that Lindsay loves what she does. There was so many instances of attention to detail. The stitching is flawless including the embroidered pieces. I couldn't even tell where the stitching started and finished (I sew also and just tend to notice those things).

I love the color combo she picked for Sebastian and love even more that he bib is created with a snap closure over velcro (which many bibs are made with on Etsy). Even the button snap was beautiful! It is the same turquoise as the stitching in his name. The items were finished off with a little branding, a "Sweet Seraphina" clothing label.

We absolutely love Sweet Seraphina and Sebastian has worn the shirt 3 times already since photographing. In my opinion this is one of the best shops I've come across in my 2 years of Etsy shopping.

I asked owner, Linday Thompson to give a brief bio so we can know where all that creative goodness comes from :

"As a kid, my little hands and mind were always busy. You could often find me in my room cutting butterflies and ladybugs out of cardboard and painting them, or creating collages and gluing them to walls, tables, doors, or anything else that stood still. I think being a “crafter” is just ingrained into who you are from the get-go.
Sweet Seraphina was created in the beginning of 2010 when I was working full time at an office job and had just finished my MBA. After grad school finished, I wanted something to fill my free time and got the idea to teach myself to sew after going to a craft show and thus Sweet Seraphina was born. I actually just quit my job as an auditor last year to focus on Sweet Seraphina and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
I originally hail from Jacksonville, Florida, went to school in Tallahassee and lived in NYC for a few years after scoring an internship with Cosmogirl magazine in my last semester of college. I am now in Orlando, FL and loving not having to see snow for months at a time!"

What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep yourself motivated?

"There’s just a natural drive in me that’s always been there to be the best at what I am striving to do. You just have to kindof look at it as your empire that you’re building. It’s your baby and if you’re not motivated, it’s never going to go anywhere."

The DSLR camera strap cover will be made to order based on your preferences. Prices start at $15 for basic 1 or two prints and go up depending on embellishments wanted.
